On May 23, 2016 Focus hosted its first and inaugural fundraiser at Iris rooftop at Nahar Building in Downtown Beirut. The event served to introduce the audience to Focus Fund, the cause it supports and its mandate in the coming years. An introductory speech was given by the President of Focus Fund, Mrs. Ghina Smadi. Mrs. Smadi presented current statistics of children and adolescents with several emotional and learning challenges.
Dr. Fadi Maalouf, Interim Chair of Psychiatry Department and Chief of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Dr. Leila Dirani, Child and Adolescent Psychologist at the division gave speeches addressing the work of this division at AUBMC. Great participation and support for the event and the cause showed while many stayed in holding their umbrellas under unexpected rain showers!
