In line with Focus Fund’s goals of raising awareness about mental health in the community and training parents and professionals on mental-health related topics, Focus held a workshop on Active Parenting in November 2016 at AUB. The workshop is the first of a series of other activities and events aiming at promoting awareness on mental health concerns of children and adolescents. 

The workshop had a highly-interactive style which helped participants to leave well-equipped with tips on parent-child communication and on implementing positive discipline methods in their day-to-day interactions with children. Participants were able to draw the link between the well-being of children and parenting styles, communication approaches, and discipline methods followed.
