Ms. Carla Najem informed and clarified the attendees on childhood depression and the difference between depression and sadness. She illuminated on behavioral changes parents should look for in their children that may signal a depression. Ms. Carla highlighted the main causes of depression and in parallel the treatments. Concluding the session Ms. Carla unfortunately highlighted that depression is one of the leading causes of death among youth who are 15 to 24; “Their feeling of hopelessness will lead to suicide ”.
